Here the quilt is laid (ha ha!) out on the living room carpet being pinned ready for machine quilting. 

The chickens were appliquéd using machine button hole stitch in lots of nice colours.

Made especially for my mum and dad.

My mum loves hens - so this quilt is for her and dad for their birthdays in July 1999 - I think they liked it!

I got the chicken pattern from the book 'Whimsies & Whynots' by Mary Lou Weidman - a great book for inspiration!
